Hi All,

We had a lovely meeting last night at East Herts Speakers with lots of fun and special guests! We had three guests Argentina, TJ and Elizabeth from Hertfordshire Speakers.

John, our president opened the meeting with very warm welcome. Our meeting continued with our Jokemaster – Kevin who entertained us with fabulous joke. We heard four excellent speeches.  Elizabeth Jordan our special guest delivered an educational speech on Pathways, she shared her journey and inspired everyone to progress on our paths. The speech was very engaging and full of useful details. Mariela delivered her Icebreaker, she introduced herself to the club and shared her difficulties with learning a new language, the speech was delivered with lots of humour and confidence. Chris also delivered his Icebreaker, Chris’s dream was to move to sunny Australia but his adventure had to come to an end, it was an excellent Icebreaker delivered with confidence. Our last speaker Steve delivered a speech on his communication style, the delivery was full of energy and enthusiasm, it was a powerful and captivating speech.

Mark was our grammarian, with a wonderful word of the day “fastidious” meaning very attentive to and concerned about accuracy and detail. Clint presided over his first Table Topics session with a theme on “tools of communication”. Liz counted our Ahs and Ums and Stephen did a great job keeping time. All the evaluations were encouraging and inspiring from myself, Kevin, Paul and Stuart. Donia was the general evaluator and as always delivered her report with enthusiasm and humour. Anna did a brilliant job as a Toastmaster of the evening – it wasn’t an easy job with such a busy agenda.

Our best speaker award went to Chris, our best evaluator was Kevin and our best Table Topics speaker was Stuart.

It was a delightful evening and I cannot wait for the next meeting on Tuesday 2^nd of April!
