What a fantastic contest we had last night at East Herts Speakers. We had three guests Ian, Trinity, our Area Director Voytek and some special appearances from members that we haven’t seen for some time Akos and Ekong! We also welcomed two new members to our club – Adrian O’Leary and Stuart Wade.

The evaluation contest was great, Anna was our target speaker with an amazing speech – we learned a lot about Chinese New Year and animal signs! Anna had the pleasure to be evaluated four times, all the evaluations were brilliant! Our evaluation contest winners were: 3rd place – Harvey Ellams, 2nd place – Donia Dimov and 1st place Kevin Baggs. For the speech contest we had only one entry Kevin Baggs, who delivered beautiful and thought-provoking speech with a title “Haggling over the price” and of course Tamara entertained us throughout the evening as a contest chair.

It was so inspiring to see members from our club step up and showcase how much they have evolved as speakers. Their dedication and practice during the meetings showed in the delivery of winning evaluations!

Donia and Kevin will represent East Herts Speakers at the Area Evaluation Contest on 12th of March at Stevenage and I am sure that a lot of you will be there supporting them.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 5th of March and already we have 3 speeches lined up but I am still looking for volunteers to perform other roles. See you soon!
