Last night we had very busy evening, the agenda was filled with very creative speeches and club business.
Tamara, our Jokemaster started the meeting by sharing a hilarious joke which made us slightly nervous at the beginning as we were trying to guess how it will end, it was great. Paul was our entertaining timekeeper and Liz our Toastmaster of the evening who filled the meeting with joy.
John spoke about “change” and why it is important. He explained why we have Toastmasters year change and the election of new club officers. The speech was full of personal stories, enthusiasm and energy. Mariela with her second speech challenged the way we think, explaining that there are different ways of thinking vertical and lateral. Mariela’s speech was amazing delivered with confidence. Chris shared his wonderful travelling experiences and kept us all captivated with his beautiful vocabulary and vivid descriptions. The delivery was full of energy and great body language. Our last speaker Mark amused us with an excellent speech about Moldova. In his speech Mark shared some interesting facts about his trip and the country. Mark had great flow and the delivery was full of humour.
After the break we continued with club business. John our President invited the club officers to talk about their roles and responsibilities. The new Toastmasters year is approaching fast and new officers will be elected at the next meeting 4th of June. Speak to John or myself if you are interested to take this great opportunity and develop your leadership skills while serving the club.
We continued with table topics. Rebecca hosted her first table topic with a theme “If you could”. The session was fabulous with four participants Chris, myself, our guest Ramakant and Mark. All the evaluations were encouraging and inspiring from Stephen, Tamara, myself, Stuart L. and Kevin.
Our best speaker award went to Mark, our best evaluator was myself and our best Table Topics speaker was again Mark!
We had lots of fun yesterday, don’t miss the next meeting on 4th of June, see you soon!
