We had fabulous meeting yesterday with lots of guests, beautiful speeches and great atmosphere.

Maria our Jokemaster surprised us as with her mini stand up comedy performance!

Mariela delivered another interesting speech and completed her Level 1! The title of the speech was “Powerful stories” and the delivery was powerful indeed. Who would have thought that reading can reduce stress? Mariela’s progress is evident and she is developing into very confident speaker.

John’s speech was very entertaining full of humour and personal stories. John spoke about the pros and cons of his work arrangements and shared his vision for the future. John had great body language and the delivery was full of cracking jokes!

Donia’s speech was on the fascinating topic of “Emotional Intelligence”. Donia’s delivery was remarkable, she used a lot of pauses, facial expression and captivated the audience with her story! Donia managed to explain a difficult topic in a very simple way.

Our Timekeeper was Chris H., he was audacious and managed to keep us on time. Our Ah-um counter Derek was excellent – performing the role for the very first time and our Grammarian Rebecca made fantastic remarks on unique grammar uses. The table topic session delivered by Mark was compelling and Kevin our General evaluator as always delivered a report full of humour and helpful tips for everyone. Stephen our Toastmasters of the evening was exuberant.

Our best speaker award went to John, our best evaluator was myself  and our best Table Topics speaker was Mark – one of our guests!

Don’t forget our Humorous speech and Table Topics contests will take place on Tuesday 3rd of September. All members are welcomed to take part. There is still time to sign up – if you are interested please contact Stephen Pearce ([email protected]). We are looking for contestants, judges, timekeepers etc.
